Lord Mayor welcomes Celebrity Infini-tea

Liverpool’s Lord Mayor will open the doors of the Town Hall this week for some very special overseas visitors.

On Friday 8 August Councillor Erica Kemp will host afternoon tea for the Captain and senior crew members of cruise liner Celebrity Infinity.

Councillor Kemp said: “It is always a pleasure to meet and to welcome visitors to the city and I am looking forward to chatting with Captain Michael Sympouras and his staff and find out what he thinks of our great city.

“The cruise liner terminal has been a great asset to the city and I hope its success continues and we see many more new, and old, faces coming here to find out for themselves what a great and friendly city this is.

Captain Sympouras said: “We are honoured and delighted to be meeting with the Lord Mayor of Liverpool at one of the city’s most historic buildings.

“We are always amazed with the welcome we get from Liverpool, the warmth and friendliness of the people is one of the things that make coming here so special.”

This is Celebrity Infinity’s third visit to the city this year. It also docked here four times last year.
