Liverpool to host Columbus Day

Dates for the 2013 ACE Cruise Convention have been announced with four ships lined up for the Selling Cruise conference in May whileLiverpool will be the host city for Columbus Day in September.

The Selling Cruise conference in Southamptonon 23 and 24 May is designed for customer facing travel professionals and will feature four ships, including two making their debut appearance at an ACE conference.  The first day will provide targeted content for delegates to use once they return to their shops, offices and call centres. There will also be a ‘Round the World’ trade fair, networking opportunities and a Sail Away Party.  Ship visits will take place on board Fred Olsen Cruises’ Balmoral, P&O Cruises’ Azura and new faces at an ACE conference – Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess and Royal Caribbean International’s Adventure of the Seas.

ACE will also be adding for the first time an optional Convention Extra when agents will have the opportunity on Saturday 25 May to visit additional ships including Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 and MSC Opera.

Columbus Day, for senior travel executives, will be staged inLiverpoolon 19 September. The day will feature business seminars, debates with key note speakers, networking opportunities and the ACE Cruise Excellence Awards which recognise the contributions made by individuals within the cruise sector.

ACE director Andy Harmer says: “We are expecting more than 400 delegates to join us inSouthamptonand we’re delighted to be showcasing two ships which haven’t previously be seen at an ACE Convention. The conference will offer an inspiring and informative opportunity for sales professionals to increase their cruise business.”

Andy continued: “In September, we are anticipating a further 400 delegates at Columbus Day inLiverpoolfor a full day of business sessions specifically targeted at senior members of the cruise industry.  We will be joined by speakers from inside and outside of the cruise industry and we will also celebrate the efforts of individuals in driving interest and sales in cruise with the ACE Excellence Awards.”
