Kate to make waves on national steering group

We are delighted to announce that Cruise Liverpool’s Passenger Operations Manager, Kate Smith, has been accepted to join Cruise Britain’s national steering group.

Kate has played an integral role in growing Liverpool’s cruise sector in recent years and worked tirelessly during the pandemic to bring about the safe return of cruising to the city’s shores as quickly as possible.

Her elevation to the steering group of Cruise Britain, the organisation which brings together the ports, destination and service sector of the UK cruise industry, is welcome recognition of Kate’s growing reputation in the industry.

As a member of the group Kate will help to oversee and advise on Cruise Britain’s activities, as well as promote the work of Cruise Liverpool to peers at a national and international level.

Kate said: “To say I was overwhelmed by the chance to join the group would be an understatement, but it’s an opportunity not to be missed. Although I have worked for Cruise Liverpool for almost 10 years, there’s still so much to learn. Through the steering group I will be working closely with peers from around the country and look forward to bringing what I learn back to Liverpool. On the flip side, I know that as a city we are making great strides in developing a strong cruise sector which untold benefits for our local economy, so I am confident I will have plenty to bring to the table too. A big thank you to Divisional Manager overseeing Cruise Liverpool, Angie Redhead, for her support and mentoring over the years, without which I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
